Cheap,
easy, and does the job. So you want to know more?
Well the SnapScan 1212u continues a long line of
quality flatbed scanners from Agfa.
It’s a 36-bit colour scanner which captures images at a
true optical resolution of up to 1200 x 600, up to A4 size.
First impression on opening the box is that
it’s very blue (although it’s also available in green
for the taste-impaired, or off-white), and of a reasonable
build quality. The sleep button on the front of the
case is a bit wobbly but that may just be a one-off;
everything else seems fine.
The case is a semi-transparent dark blue plastic, so
the imaging light shines through nicely when you’re
scanning. Gives
a pleasantly creepy effect in a darkened room!
Only snag then is that you can’t see what you’re
doing of course, but hey, that’s just a fine detail. |
